Domestic flights to be suspended on Monday

All domestic flights between Nairobi and Mombasa will be suspended effective Monday noon, March 29th.


Confirming the development, Kenya Airways Chief Commercial Officer Julius Thairu said flights between Nairobi and Kisumu will also be suspended on Monday mid-day until further notice.


This follows President Uhuru Kenyatta directive that saw five counties placed under partial lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.


Mr Thairu said the national carrier has increased  the number of scheduled flights Monday noon to address passengers needs.


Those affected by the suspension of domestic flights have been advised to review their bookings until later dates or request for a refund.


Kenya Civil Aviation Authority ( KCAA) Director-General Captain Gilbert Kibe had on Friday after the presidential directive announced that all domestic flights in the country will cease operation effective Monday, March 29th.
