Agnes Kavindu Muthama of the Wiper Democratic Movement Party has been sworn in as Machakos Senator.
Kavindu succeeds late Senator Boniface Kabaka who died in December last year.
Kavindu was declared the winner of the Machakos Senatorial mini-polls on Friday.
She garnered 104,352 votes against UDA's Urbanus Ngengele who got 19,726 votes.
She becomes the fourth elected woman Senator.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka witnessed Kavindu's swearing-in from the speaker's gallery.
Kalonzo was accompanied by Jubilee Vice-Chairman David Murathe, Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti and East Africa Community Secretary-General Peter Mathuki.
