Covid-19: Kenya records 132 positive cases, 62 recoveries and 3 deaths

The Ministry of Health on Thursday announced that Kenya has recorded 132 new COVID-19 infections tested from a sample of 4,220 people in the last 24 hours.

The ministry's statement revealed that the country's total Covid-19 cases stands at 102,353. 

Cumulatively, 1,228,047 tests have been carried out so far. 

From the new cases, 111 are Kenyans while 21 are foreigners. 62 are female while 70 are male. 

From the 62 patients that have recovered from the disease, 45 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care while 17 are from various health facilities. 

The total recoveries are now at 84,790.

Unfortunately, the cumulative fatalities are now at 1, 794 as 3 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

360 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,292 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

31 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit, 13 on ventilatory support and 16 on supplemental oxygen. 2 patients are on observation.

Another 9 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen in the general wards.

The county distribution of the cases are as follows: Nairobi 96, Kiambu 8, Taita Taveta 6, Kisumu 4, Nakuru 4, Meru 3, Kilifi 2, Mombasa 2, Uasin Gishu 2, Embu 1, Garissa 1, Machakos 1, Kajiado 1 and Kericho 1.

The sub-county distribution of the cases are as follows: the 96 cases in Nairobi are from Dagoretti North and Westlands (13) cases each, Embakasi West and Lang’ata (8) cases each, Starehe (7), Kamukunji, Kibra and Mathare (6) cases each, Embakasi East (5), Embakasi South and Makadara (4) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North and Ruaraka (3) cases each, Kasarani and Roysambu (2) cases each.

The 8 cases in Kiambu County are 
 from Kiambu Town (4), Ruiru (3) and Thika (1).
