Over 1 million Kenyans who enrolled in the cash transfer programmes will receive Ksh. 8,000 each in government aid as the government has released Ksh. 8,728,056,000 shillings for payment.
As from Monday, February 22, 2020, through the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the money will be paid out to 1,090,587 beneficiaries of the programs.
In the Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Programme, there are 293,688 beneficiaries who will receive 2.3 billion in the September-December 2020 payment cycle.
Under the Older Persons Cash Transfer Programme, a total of 762,947 beneficiaries will receive Ksh.6.1 billion while the 33,952 beneficiaries of the Persons with Severe Disability Cash Programme will be paid 271.6 million shillings.
Also, under the Older Persons Cash Transfer Programme, 762,947 beneficiaries will receive Ksh.6.1 billion.
Anytime over the next six months, the beneficiaries or caregivers can access the payment.
