Belgian coach Patrick Aussems will be guiding AFC Leopards this season as he is expected to jet into the country on Friday ahead of the Mashemeji derby on Sunday.
The derby will involve AFC Leopards versus archrivals Gor Mahia.
After arrival, Aussems will sign a deal and take the take charge of the club (Ingwe) this season. His first match in charge will be the Mashemeji derby.
The Belgian coach, who’s also coached Black Leopards of South Africa, replaces Tomas Trucha who quit abruptly in December 2020 after one match in charge.
Since then, Ingwe has been without a coach. The team is currently in fourth place on the FKF premier league table after eight rounds of the season 2020/21.
Trucha, a Czech Republic national, had been appointed by club chairman Dan Shikanda a month before his resignation. He stated that his move was due the threats he received from a section of the club fans.
Assistant coach Antony ‘Modo’ Kimani has been an interim coach for AFC Leopards and will now deputize the Belgian coach.
