Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has appointed Kenyan referee Dr Peter Waweru Kamaku to officiate tonight's quarterfinal match between Mali and Congo.
Dr Kamaku, A FIFA accredited referee will be assisted by compatriot Gilbert Cheruiyot ( First assistant), Madagascar's Lionel Hasinjarasao( second assistant) and Ghana's Daniel Largea.
Waweru a Pure and Applied Mathematical Science Lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology has previously officiated matches at AFCON as well as CAF championship.
He was the centre referee in 2019 AFCON matches pitting Ivory Coast and Namibia.
The Mali V Congo match has been slated for Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon.
