A survey report by TIFA Research has revealed that if elections were held today, a majority of Jubilee supporters would vote for Deputy President William Ruto as the President.
The poll indicated that only the 12 per cent of the Jubilee adherents who support President Uhuru Kenyatta would reject the DP at the ballot.
Also, Jubilee Party has a popularity rating of 33 per cent among Kenyans, with 21 per cent of them are Ruto supporters. Therefore, the majority of Jubilee supporters are inclined towards Ruto's Tangangata faction.
The national approval of Raila Odinga's ODM party is 18 per cent.
President Uhuru and Raila are on a united front as they are working together even though they claim that the handshake is not based on 2022 political interests.
Despite his falling out with Uhuru after the handshake nearly two years ago, Ruto has sustained an aggressive campaign as a presidential candidate in next year's general election.
The poll released on Friday indicates that 42 per cent of Kenyans do not support any political party, providing a platform for Raila and Ruto to battle for numbers ahead of next year.
Nevertheless, Uhuru's camp believes that Ruto has brainwashed Jubilee supporters and vanquished the President even in his own Mt Kenya backyard.
The survey reports indicate that the national rating for Wiper, Ford Kenya, ANC and Kanu is one per cent for each.
According to the poll, ODM members are the most supportive of a referendum before 2022. However, the least enthusiastic about a referendum before next year's general election are Jubilee and Ruto supporters.
