The mental examination results for murder suspects Lawrence Warunge and his girlfriend Sarah Muthoni have been released by doctors as required by the law.
The court ordered doctors to examine the two and confirm their mental status and prove whether they were fit to stand to trial.
According to the released results, the two suspects are mentally stable. Therefore, they will face murder charges for the deaths of Warunge's four family members and a mason at his parent's home.
22-year-old Warunge claimed to have been inspired by a television series dubbed Killing Eve to plan and execute the murder.
He confessed to have killed his father, mother, brother, nephew and a worker in Kiambu County following the accusation on January 5. The girlfriend was accused of aiding him to break the law.
Reports indicate that Muthoni purchased the murder weapon (a knife) and also hosted him at her rental house.
The prosecution has asked the suspects to take a plea. The case will be mentioned on Monday, January 25.
The deceased were buried on Saturday, January 16 in Kiambu County. However, the suspect was not allowed to grace the event.
