Former WWE star Luke Harper dies

Former WWE wrestler Jonathan Huber popularly known as Luke Harper (WWE) and Brodie Lee (AEW) has died.

The athlete and entertainer died on Boxing Day when he was just 41-years-old. Breaking the sad news, his family, friends and colleagues were expressed their devastation.

According to the wife Amanda, Harper died of a non-covid related lung issue.

"My best friend died today. I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet. No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now," she wrote on Instagram.

Amanda acknowledged Jonathan's wrestling company's support and expressed how grateful she is.

She continued, "On top of that, I can’t express my love and admiration for the way @allelitewrestling has treated not only my husband but myself and my kids."

"The team at AEW have helped keep me standing and pick up all the broken pieces. I’ve been surrounded by so much love and incredible people I can’t tag them all but they know who they are and I don’t think they will ever know how thankful I am for them," Amanda added.

Huber left WWE to join rival company AEW last year to have a fresh start in his career which looked promising.

AEW also released a statement regarding the wrestler's regretful death. Fans also joined in to pay tribute to their fallen hero.

While fighting for All Elite Wrestling (AWE), Huber went by the name Brodie Lee.

Huber began his wrestling career when he was 23-years-old as a backyard wrestler. Professionally, he joined Roc City Wrestling (RCW) in 2003 under the name Huberboy #2 and moved to WWE in May 2012.

After his release from his WWE contract in November 2019, Huber made his debut for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in March this year.

Huber has left behind the wife Amanda and their two sons eight-year-old Brodie and three-year-old Nolan.
