Kitutu Chache South MP Hon.Richard Onyonka has said he has what it takes to succeed Kisii Governor James Ongwae.
Incumbent Ongwae is serving his second and last term.
Onyonka says after serving as an MP for three terms, he is now ready to be the county boss.
“I would like to tell my brothers and sisters who are interested in the seat to prepare for a tough challenge since I understand the Kisii people more than they do," Onyonka said .
The Kitutu Chache South Mp has downplayed the fact that coming from the same clan as Governor Ongwae may work against him, saying the people are interested in a good leader.
Other Kisii politicians who have expressed interest in the post include Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri,Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, former South Mugirango MPs Omingo Magara and Manson Nyamweya.
Bobasi politician Lumumba Nyaberi, Kisii County Women Rep Janet Ongera, Dagoreti South MP Simba Arati , Rachel Otundo .
