England's nations league hopes dimmed after Belgium loss

England lost 2-0 to Belgium in 2021 UEFA Nations League qualifiers to fail their hopes of a back-to-back competition participation.

First-half goals from Youri Tielemans and Dries Mertens end England's chances of qualifying for knockout phase of Nations League.

Youri Tielemans' deflected drive on 10 minutes to give the hosts the lead. Dries Mertens (23) clipped home a fine free-kick after a controversial foul was called against Declan Rice.

Harry Kane, on his 50th appearance for England, saw his header cleared off the line by Romelu Lukaku.
