Uhuru signs 2020/21 county revenue allocation bill


President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed into law the 2020/21 County Revenue Allocation bill paving way for the disbursement of exchequers funds to the cash strapped counties.


The new law allocates a total of Ksh.369.87 billion in the current fiscal year to counties and includes Ksh 13.73 billion in government of Kenya conditional grants and 316.5 billion of equitable share.

The conditional grant will be utilised in the provision of services such as rehabilitation of youth polytechnics across all the 47 counties as well as leasing of medical equipment

The bill was presented to the President by the Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka at a ceremony attended by Justin Muturi( National Assembly Speaker), Ukur Yattani ( CS Treasury ) and Leaders of Majority in Senate and the National Assembly Samuel Poghiso and Amos Kimunya.
