Kenyan based e-payments service provider, JamboPay, has secured a revenue collection deal with the Malawian Blantyre City Council (BCC), Malawi's second largest city.
The contract between the JamboPay holding company, Web Tribe Limited, and BCC was signed on 6th October 2020.
According to the contract, JamboPay will finance, develop and operate an automated revenue collection infrastructure for the Malawian city for 10 years.
Danson Muchemi, JamboPay CEO, thanked Private Public Partnership Commission of Malawi and BCC for enabling the partnership.
According to Muchemi, revenue collection will be transparent and efficient.
“We look forward to deploying our many years of experience in electronic payments and our robust technology towards the realization of better services and improved revenue collection by the Blantyre City Council,” he said.
