Interior CS Fred Matiang’i snubbed Deputy President William Ruto at the Mashujaa Day celebrations when he failed to recognize him during the issuance of huduma cards at the Gusii Stadium, Kisii Stadium.
The CS announced that the cards are now ready to be issued to Kenyans. This comes after a long exercise that saw Kenyans biometric data taken .
While Matiang’i ensured that President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta received the cards, the DP's card was missing in the list of the first recipients.
10 other Kenyans, all men also received the sample huduma cards.
Ruto supporters have questioned the CS's move.
DP Ruto's allies in the past weeks have claimed that the Huduma cards could be used to rig the 2022 election. However, snubbing him in the issuance process only leaves a lot of questions in the minds of Kenyans.
