The High Court has ordered Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, to meet with TSC to develop a proper plan for school reopening.
According to Justice James Makau, the CS should convene the meeting with TSC at Jogoo House on the Thursday to settle on the conditions for reopening schools.
The High Court gave the order in light of the claim of a parent, Joseph Aura, in a court case that the indefinite school closure affects children, yet the government is not responsive effectively.
Mr. Aura claimed that the government has not put measures in place to address the issue of children's problems that emerge from the lack of in-person teaching.
The High Court order requires Magoha, TSC, and stakeholders to reach a settlement soon and report it to the court next week on Wednesday.
Justice Makau said, "The CS Education or his representative to invite the parties in the petition and stakeholders within the shortest time possible to constitute or reach settlement on the issues of reopening the school, on what conditions and when and report to this court on or by October 14, 2020."
On Tuesday, Magoha instructed Grade Four, Standard Eight, and Form Four learners to report for their second term next Monday.
The High Court ruling follows this move, aiming at having a clear plan for school procedures to after the reopening
