Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega has stated that the Mt Kenya region is ready for a Raila Odinga presidency in 2022.
According to Kega, the region is ready to vote for Raila in the next general elections.
"Mt Kenya people have looked and seen that Raila Odinga will be elected the next president of Kenya. We are ready to vote for him," said Kega who was flanked by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir in Mombasa to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Mekatilili wa Menza Girls High School.
Kega emphasized that the people in the region believe in Odinga and trust him to deliver when elected the fifth president of Kenya.
He said, "I am used to being in the government, I know why I am supporting baba (Raila), he will deliver."
Kega urged the coastal people to turn out in large numbers to vote as it is typical of them not to do so.
He said, "I want to challenge you to come out to vote in large numbers in 2022, we have observed keenly that you people don't turn out to vote...the turnout is always about 60 per cent compared to our region which always stands above 90 per cent."
"Take advantage of the little time left before the mass voter registration exercise comes to a close, register now before time is up," added Kega
