The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union ( KMPDU) has voted out its Secretary-General Dr Chibanzi Mwachonda.
Dr Mwachonda who has held the post on an interim basis since March 2020 when the then SG Ouma Oluga was appointed by the Nairobi Metropolitan Service( NMS) as Chief Officer of Health will now be replaced by Dr Davji Atellah.
During the Thursday hotly contested elections, Dr Mwachonda came third with 15.5 per cent of the votes.
Other officials elected include Dr Dennis Miskellah( Deputy Secretary General)Dr Abidan Muchuma( Chairperson) Dr David Mundai( Vice-Chairperson) and Dr Mercy Nabwire ( National Treasurer)
Prior to his election as the Union boss, Dr Attelah served as the South Rift branch Secretary.
