Kenya has recorded 376 new Covid-19 positive cases, from a sample size of 4,153, pushing the cumulative cases to 166,382 with a positivity rate that has spiked to 9.1% from Tuesday's 7.5%.
According Health CS Kagwe, only 100,000 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine were left as the vaccines were running out fast.
He stated, "We are still vaccinating, but we are at the tip, we need vaccines urgently."
Kagwe also pointed out that accessing the vaccines has become a challenge to vaccines due to the situation in India.
Nevertheless, he said the government is looking for other avenues to get other vaccines for the population.
From the new positive cases, 363 are Kenyans while 13 are foreigners and 214 are male and 163 are female.
The oldest case is 100 years old while the youngest case is a two-day-old infant.
The total number of recoveries to 117,235 as 318 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. From the new recoveries, 248 are from home-based care and 70 are from the various hospitals around the country.
Unfortunately, 14 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the total fatalities to 3,035.
There are 1,074 patients currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 4,626 are on home-based isolation and care.
From the 107 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 21 are on ventilatory support, 69 are on supplemental oxygen and 17 patients are on observation.
Another 93 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 89 of them in the general wards and 4 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
So far, a total of 945,597 people had been vaccinated against Covid-19 countrywide.
