Covid-19: Kenya records 369 new cases with positivity rate of 8.3 per cent

Kenya has recorded 369 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 4,469 with a positivity rate of 8.3 per cent. 

From the new cases, 329 are Kenyans while 40 are foreigners and 211 are males and 158 are females.

The oldest case is 90 years old while the youngest is a nine-month-old baby. 

According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the total number of confirmed cases stands at 160,422 and the cumulative tests so far are 1,679,779.

In the last 24 hours, 72 patients have recovered. 39 from home-based care, and 33 from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 108,861. 

Sadly, in the last 24 hours, 19 deaths have been reported, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 2,763.

This comes just a day  after President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted cessation of movement from the city and four other counties.

So far, a total of 886,288 persons have so far been vaccinated against the disease countrywide.
