Kenya has recorded 1,027 new positive Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 7,184 pushing total number of positive cases to 151,287 with a positivity rate of 14.3 percent.
Currently, the cumulative tests conducted so far are at 1,599,668.
From the new positive cases, 1,009 are Kenyans while 18 are foreigners and 600 are male and 427 are female. The oldest case is 110 years while youngest is a two-year-old baby.
Sadly,in the last 24 hours 20 deaths have been reported pushing the cumulative fatalities to 2,463.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 101,362 as 332 patients have recovered from the disease.
From the new recoveries, 267 of those are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care, while 115 are from various health facilities.
Therefore cumulatively, 73598 are from home based care and isolation while 27,764 are from various health facilities.
Currently, 1,065 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide while 5,798 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
55 of the 264 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are on ventilatory support while 161 are on supplemental oxygen. 48 patients are on observation.
According to experts, windows should be opened
to allow for ventilation and help in curbing the spread of Covid-19.
They advised, "People are much more likely to become infected in a room with windows that can't be opened or lacking any ventilation system."
