CDC:People vaccinated twice can gather unmasked indoors for Easter

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed on Twitter that people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can safely gather for Easter on Sunday, both indoors and without masks.

However, people who are not fully vaccinated should have their Easter with only the people in their household or outdoors while 6 feet apart to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Its been about two weeks since CDC received their second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.

In a guidance it released in March, the agency said that individuals who have been fully vaccinated can meet indoors without masks. They can also gather with unvaccinated people without masks, but with limited visits to one unvaccinated household at a time.

According to CDC, when visiting an unvaccinated person at increased risk of severe illness or death from Covid-19 precautions should remain in place.

The agency pointed out that it is still learning how vaccines protect against the novel coronavirus and as health officials learn more, it will continue with the updates

CDC has however emphasized that people should continue wearing masks, keeping a social distance and avoiding crowds.
