Missing KCPE candidate found dead

A 14-year-old Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) candidate, Beatrice Gesare, who was reported as missing on Sunday, March 21 was found dead on Tuesday, March 23.

According to area assistant chief, Kennedy Kiago, Gesare’s body was found close to a railway bridge in Michina area where she is believed to have slipped and fell.

Gesare’s parents said that their late daughter was headed to the shop shortly after attending a church service in the neighbourhood.

However, she went missing the same afternoon and efforts to trace her were futile.

According to the deceased's father, David Nyaminja, she was a jovial and hardworking girl with the dream of becoming a teacher. Unfortunately that dream was shattered prematurely.

Before Gesare’s unfortunate incident, the area residents raised concerns about the dangerous bridge that has claimed the lives of three people in the past four months as seven others recuperate.
