Kenya records 105 new Covid-19 cases

In the last 24 hours, Kenya has recorded 105 Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,573, bringing the country's cumulative positive cases to 104,306.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe issued a statement on Monday, February 22, disclosing that the total tests conducted so far are 1,269,346.

From the new positive cases recorded, 88 are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners. 72 are male while 33 are female. 

The eldest case is 82 years while the youngest is  an eleven-year old child. 

From the 49 patients that have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, 34 are from the Home Based Isolation and Care while 15 are from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 85,627.

Unfortunately, 4 patients succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatality to 1,827 .

Currently, 333 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,281 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.

From the 51 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 23 are on ventilator support and 23 are on supplemental oxygen. 4 patients are on observation.

 Another 9 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 8 of them in the general wards.
