Jubilee Party barred from expelling Mwaura, Omanga and two others


The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has barred Jubilee Party from expelling four nominated Senators.


The tribunal's Chairperson Desma Nungo on Tuesday said he had suspended the ruling party from effecting its resolution to allow the expelled members get a fair hearing.

"Pending hearing and determination of this application inter-partes, this tribunal hereby stays any further implementation of Jubilee Party’s decision dated February 8 to expel the applicants from the Party,  ” said Nungo.

Senator Isaac Mwaura , Millicent Omanga and two other senators had moved to the tribunal to challenge the party decision to expel them.


The case will be mentioned on February 16 th and February 17th.


Jubilee Party on Monday expelled six nominated Senators; Isaac Mwaura, Millicent Omanga, Seneta Mary, Naomi Waqo , Prengei Victor and Iman Dekow.


Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said the expulsion was to take effect immediately

The six senators were expelled over disciplinary violations.
