Harris will be sworn as the Vice President by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the first woman color on the court.
Harris becomes the first African-American and Asian-American to serve as Vice President of the United States.
The outgoing US Vice President Mike Pence also arrived at the Capital Platform with his wife Karen Pence.
Pence earlier Wednesday snubbed Trump's farewell event at Joint Base Andrews.
