Amanda Gorman, inauguration poet to run for President

Amanda Gorman has said she will run for president in the USA in 2036.

Former presidential contender Hillary Clinton has confirmed after meeting Amanda Gorman and taking a selfie during the Inauguration ceremony for President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Amanda Gorman, 22, became the youngest poet ever to perform at a presidential inauguration, calling for unity and togetherness in her self-penned poem.

She delivered her poem 'The Hill We Climb' to the dignitaries present in Washington DC and everyone watching around the globe.

In her poem, she says that when the day comes, we ask ourselves where can we find light in this never-ending shade. That's how her 5-minute poem started.

In the poem, Gorman also describes herself as a skinny black girl who descended from slaves and raised by a single mother and now dreams of becoming president.

US broadcaster and actress Oprah Winfrey also commended Amanda, saying she was prouder to see another young woman rise.
