Kisumu County government has now ordered all buses which have stations within the Central Business District (CBD) to vacate by January 1st, 2021.
Kisumu acting city manager Abala Wanga ordered all the bus companies to make prior arrangements for alternative stations outside the CBD.
In a notiIe seen by Latest, Wanga said the Urban and Cities Act 2011 gives them powers to issue such directives.
Buses with booking offices within the CBD include Guardian, Periska, Ena Coach among others.
The city manager said those who would have not complied to the notice will face action and all the buses will be impounded .
He added that the county police boss, director of city inspectorate and the city engineer have been informed to enforce the notice
