Nakuru London ward MCA Sammy Mbugua dies

Nakuru London ward MCA Sammy Mbugua has succumbsd to pancreatic disorder while receiving treatment at a Nakuru Hospital.

The County Assembly Speaker, Joel Kairu confirmed the sad news on Thursday morning, saying the MCA died on Wednesday night at the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital.

According to reports, the MCA checked in at the hospital on Tuesday where he was diagnosed with liver and pancreas failure.

The cause of death was not immediately clear although the hospital had administered a COVID-19 test whose results are yet to be released.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyajui eulogised the MCA as an honest leader who worked tirelessly to resolve the problems of the people in his ward.

“The sheng-speaking member was an easy going, likeable leader who had no time for petty disagreements. He was a peacemaker per excellence. At this difficult moment of sorrow, our hearts and prayers go to his family, friends and constituents,” the Governor’s condolence read in part.

The late Mbugua was last seen in public Tuesday last week after the assembly resumed physical sittings following a 2-week closure.
