Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Muoti Mwangangi has gone into self-isolation after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.
Ms. Mwangangi, who is also the mother of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi, said she tested positive for the virus nine days ago.
According to the Machakos County Assembly Speaker, she reportedly noticed that one of her colleagues was exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 hence resolved to have all the assembly members tested; she was among two who were found to have contracted the virus.
Ms.Mwangangi, however, said she has been following Ministry of Health guidelines, further adding that “coronavirus is real , people should be careful'
