Kenyans on Twitter slammed Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris after she posted a tweet comparing herself to the US Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.
Brutal netizens replied to her tweet claiming that she cannot compare herself to Kamala Harris because Kamala is a more reputable individual in governance.
One netizen claimed that Passaris career trajectory doesn't match Kamala's. Another went on to tell her to focus on her translucent skirts instead of making that comparison. Others delved into political arguments to distance Passaris from Kamala.
In the tweet, Passaris said that her persuasion coach Julie Erickson told her that she resembled Kamala Harris who was still a senator then.
“A few years ago my persuasion coach @JulietErickson_ said I reminded her of a US Senator called Kamala Harris. I had no idea who she was, but I was told she had Presidential ambitions and that we were both born on 20th Oct 1964. So I started paying attention to Kamala’s career,” Passaris said.
The Nairobi Women Rep expressed how proud she was of Harris who has made history as the first female and person of color to be elected Vice President in the United States of America.
She said that Harris has not only inspired Americans but also women from other parts of the world.
Passaris also congratulated Joe Biden who is the US President-Elect and thanked him for choosing a woman as his running mate.
She added, “Thank you Joe Biden for the vote of confidence in women. History was made because you wanted to be part of the change needed to fight historical wrongs."
