Treasury releases Ksh 14.5 b for public schools

Basic Education Principal Secretary, Dr Belio Kipsang, has announced that the government has released Sh14.5 billion to finance public secondary schools ahead of the phased reopening of the institutions on Monday, October 12.

Dr Belio stated that the funds will hit bank accounts of institutions by Monday, the day Grade 4, Class 8 and Form 4 learners will report back to school for in-person learning.

Of this 14.5 billion, Sh13.2b will go to secondary schools.

Kenya certificate of primary education (KCPE)will start on 22nd March, 2021 and end on 24th March, 2021.

On the other hand, Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE)will kick off on 25th March, 2021. This close to month long exercise, will come to a close on 16th April, 2021, to give way for marking exercise.
