Deputy President William Ruto has accused Jubilee Party insiders of orchestrating the chaos in Kenol, Murang'a County on Sunday morning.
"The Jubilee administration is a product of kneeling and prayer before many alters in Kenya. It can not be the same administration that is now going to teargas the church and disgrace our alters in Kenya," the Deputy President said moments after the church service
Two groups of youths arrived at the church premises and threw stones which instigated repulsive reactions from the church members.
The members overwhelmed the youths at the Kenol-Thika highway and when cornered the youths revealed that they acted under the directive of politicians.
They added that the politicians mobilized them, promising to pay them Sh 1,000.
The Deputy President proceeded to announce the plans of the government to revamp Kenol town into a city.
"In our many plans and in collaboration with Kenol leaders, we agreed that we should transform this town into a city because it is the centre of all business in Murang'a," he said.
