McAfee software creator detained



A Spanish police source has revealed that the McAfee anti-virus software creator, John McAfee, was arrested at Barcelona Airport in Spain on Saturday. 

According to the source, the software guru was on his way to board a flight to Istanbul with a British passport when the police arrested and detained him.

The source also added that McAfee will be extradited in Madrid, Spain. 

Earlier, McAfee faced an indictment in the United States over fraud charges. On Monday, U.S. federal prosecutors the indictment that was over tax evasion. 

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, alleged that McAfee made more than $23.1 million in a hidden compensation.

The commission also linked the compensation to unclear and false cryptocurrency promotions. SEC revealed that it filed civil charges against the software creator. 

Allegedly, McAfee's huge income is from cryptocurrency promotions, sold rights to his life for documentary production, and consultation.
