Egyptian activist freed after two years in jail

Shady Abu Zeid an activist and a satirist  who has been detained for more than two years and has been freed.

He was arrested in May 2018 and held in pre- trial detention over the charges of "membership of banned group" and "disseminating false news", according to rights group Amnesty International.

"He was released under judicial supervision, and is now at home with us," his sister Rola Abu Zeid wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
