Court remands MP Jumwa

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno were on Monday charged with murder and remanded  for three days pending a court-ordered mental assessment.

The duo will be detained at Port Police Station until Thursday, October 22, when they shall take plea.

Jumwa is accused of fatally injuring Ngubao Jola, who was shot dead during Ganda Ward in Malindi Constituency by-election in 2019.

The MP has been out on bond having been arrested together with her bodyguard over the death of Jola but were never charged. The court had ordered that they assist police with investigations.
