The Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM) National Executive Council (NEC) has resolved to suspend Kilifi North Member of Parliament Owen Baya over his allegiance with Deputy William Ruto.
Addressing the press on Saturday after an ODM NEC meeting at Stoni Athi Resort in Machakos, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said Baya had also been relieved of his post as the party’s deputy organising secretary.
According to Sifuna, the NEC is the party’s crucial organ hence they can’t afford to have the legislator as a member following his recent political alignments.
The ODM Secretary General further stated that Baya “is now free to continue with his TangaTanga politics.”
Baya was part of a delegation of Coast MPs that recently escorted a Feisal Abdallah Bader, an aspirant for the Msambweni parliamentary seat, to meet Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen office.
