Faith Kipyego sailed into the final of the women's 1500 meters after winning the first semi-final in 3:56:80 on Wednesday
Ethiopia's Gebreezibehar and Canada's Gabriella Debues-stifford clinched the second and third position at the first semi-final to book a slot at the finals scheduled for Friday.
The second semi-final was won by Dutch's Sifan Hassan who clocked 4:00:23 with Britain's Laura Muir and Uganda's Winnie Nyadodo completing the second and third position respectively and automatically qualifying for the final.
Kenya's Winnie Chebet who was tripped finished last in 4:11:62 and will be hoping to be re-instated to the Olympics final by organizers.
The other Kenyan in the race Edinah Jebitok finished last in the second semi final.
